Sometimes
the most difficult thing to do is ask for help.
Especially when you feel you
may be asking too much.
But I never had to ask you.
You were simply there.
You refused to take no for an answer.
You encouraged me and lifted my spirit.
You gave me your ear, your shoulder, your heart.
I cannot express my gratitude with words.
I just wanted you to know,
my heart is filled with appreciation.

I see someone who didn’t allow
the fight of a lifetime to diminish
the essence of who they are.

My prayer for you is that God will strengthen
your heart during this season in your life.
I’m not going to tell you that it will be easy,
but I do believe you will make it.
I say this because I ‘ve noticed something about you.
As long as I have known you,
you have been a determined individual.
You have always demonstrated faith and courage.
And even though this may test you in ways
you’ve never experienced before,
your faith, courage, and determination
with the help of God will pull you through.

Hold my hand
Let’s close our eyes
and travel to a place of our choosing.

A place where the sky is clear
and the sunbeams swirl around us.
A place where the grass invites us to lie down
and relax under the umbrella of a tree.

In our secret place we share laughter and tears.
We experience the warmth of God’s healing power
as peace fills every space around us.
And as we open our eyes, we promise one another
that the spirit of our secret place will always remain.

Hold My Hand - 07

Life’s journey can lead us through places
we’d much rather not travel.
There are times when the path is clear, illuminated and free.
But there are times when if feels as though
we are traveling through a winding tunnel,
and the light is hidden from our view.
These are the times when we must have faith.
We must believe that as sure as we’ve entered the tunnel,
we will come out on the other side.
I am here to travel along side you.
To hold your hand when it seems darkest.
To pray and to believe with you.
To rejoice with you when you see the glimmer of light.
And to celebrate with you when you come out.
