National Send a Card Day (10.22.09) is a day set aside each year to send a cancer related greeting card from the NSACDay collection to someone who has been directly or indirectly affected by cancer.

It is an exciting project. Especially since receiving a greeting card in the mail means so much. In this time of instant communication such as emails, text messages and voicemails, studies show that a greeting card or a handwritten letter are still preferred methods of communication when it comes to more personal and heartfelt sentiments.

Using greeting cards as a vehicle, our mission is to bring peace-of-mind to cancer patients by assisting them with their non-medical needs, provide employment programs that are nurturing and empathetic to their journey, and advocate prevention by building awareness in the communities we serve.

We would like for you to join us. It is our hope that not one person who has been affected by cancer will be left out. Help us encourage every heart that has been touched. At the same time, you will help provide financial assistance directly to cancer patients as they fight.

...............................................................

We heard your feedback on last year's collection. Thank you for a overwhelmingly positive response. Some of you wanted words in all of the cards. Some of you would have liked all of the cards to be blank. In answer to these suggestions, you will be able to choose the words you want to place in your card from our collection of sentiments, or you may order cards blank.

Thank each of you for your support!

Shades of Purple...
Lavender is the official ribbon color for general cancer awareness. Purple is the official ribbon color, which can be worn by all cancer survivors. It is our hope that short of not being diagnosed at all, each person who has had to fight this battle may one day wear the purple ribbon. The NSAC-Day ribbon colors reflect our desire to benefit everyone who has had to face this dreaded foe.
